Availability changes quickly
A name in a directory does not prove that a clinician is accepting patients, treats a specific condition, or can provide telemedicine where you live. Confirm availability and fit directly with the practice before sharing records or paying a fee.
What to verify
- Active license and any public disciplinary history
- Professional role and legal scope of practice
- Practice website, phone, location, and current new-patient status
- Testing and treatment approach, including how uncertainty is handled
- Fees, insurance, deposits, cancellation rules, and expected follow-up
- Authorization to treat you in the state where you will be located for telemedicine
